Last week I took a trip to Third Street Books in Marysville (located on Third Street, appropriately enough). This is not the Third Place Books in Seattle, mind you. Third Place Books has a tasty bakery attached to it, new and used books, and cool stuff that you have no use for but want to buy anyway. Third Street Books is in a groovy dark brown building with a cheesy neon sign and is more your typical dusty used bookstore. However, cheesy though it may be, it is THE best place I have found for used Harlequins. I suspect that most of the Seattle used bookstores I frequent think they're too cool to buy Harlequins, because I can never find any. So if you're looking for Harlequins (all kinds, plus the lame Silhouettes), check out Third Street Books!
After wading through the stacks, I finally settled on four books, all by tried and true authors. The first is Heart of Glass by Dana James (not Blondie). I'm excited to read this one because Dana James wrote The Eagle and the Sun (see my first post)! Not to mention The Marati Legacy, which is also a favorite. Kris is reading that one and hopefully we'll get a review on it soon. I also got a Bethany Campbell book, Every Woman's Dream. The cover art is hilarious. I have already read it, so stay tuned for the recap. I'm currently reading A Fair Exchange, by Valerie Parv. So far, so good on that one. I just looked her up on Amazon.com and she has written A LOT (like Centrefold, which is a pretty funny one)! Including a book on how to write romance novels. Well, she should know, I guess. Stubborn as a Mule, the last book I bought, should also be fun - it's from the "Back to the Ranch" series (which includes old fave The Bad Penny) and is written by Roz Denny of The Cinderella Coach fame! Cathy took that one, even though she was put off by the hero's name, Levi Hunter. Maybe one of these days Cathy will actually make a post to this blog! I'm not sure if she knows how to do it, actually. Cathy, we can help!
Okay, that's it for now. Like I said, I'll write about the Bethany Campbell book in the next day or two.
